Founded by Nand Ram, Rewari is a city and a municipal council in Rewari district in the Indian state of Haryana. Located in south west Haryana the city is 81 kms away from Old Delhi and around 51 kms from Gurgaon. The place thrives on traditional industries such as cottage, brass, ornamental works etc. Rewari is a part of National Capital region and is located adjacent to Rajasthan. It is well connected by three prominent National Highways i.e. the NH8 (Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai), NH 71 B (Rewari-Dharuhera-Palwal) and NH71 (Jalandhar-Rohtak-Jhajjar-Rewari). Further State Highway 24, 26 and 15 connects Rewari to all major areas in Haryana and adjacent districts of Rajasthan. Regular Bus services are available from Rewari to Delhi and parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. It is a major railway Junction and is connected to all major cities in India. Six railway lines branch out from Rewari to Delhi, Ajmer via Ringas, Ajmer via Alwar, Loharu, Hisar and Rohtak. The sixth line that runs between between Jhajjar and Rohtak was commissioned only early last year. Nearest airport to this area is Indira Gandhi International Airport which is around 76.6 Kms via NH 8.
