Railway Station is about 36 kilometres from Kelambakkam. Educational institutions in Kelambakkam include Ragas Dental College, Hindustan College of Engineering, St. Marys Matriculation School, Hindustan College of Engineering and Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering. Chettinad Health City, which houses a hospital and nursing college called Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute (CHRI) is also located in Kelambakkam.
