New Highway To Cover Delhi – Jaipur In Just 2 Hours: Nitin Gadkari

Jaipur happens to be the most preferred choice for a Delhiite’s weekend getaway. And why not? There is no better place around Delhi that you could think of when it comes to glorious history, true culture and heritage of India and the birthplace of royals. Also, it is located at an easy driving distance of 270 km from Delhi.

But what if this 6-hour long journey between Delhi-Jaipur was shortened by four hours? You would get more time to explore the Pink City. Confused how that’s possible?

Recently, Union Minister for Road Transport, Nitin Gadkari has announced that a new access control highway will be constructed between Delhi and Jaipur, which would reduce the travel time between two cities.

Highlights of New Access Control Highway

  • This new highway between Delhi and Jaipur will enable the travelers to cover the distance of 270 km between the two cities in just two hours.

  • The work on this new highway will begin in January 2017.

  • The estimated cost of new Delhi-Jaipur access control highway is Rs. 16,000 crore.

Other Improvement Work

Other than the construction of the new access control highway between Delhi-Jaipur, many improvement works would be completed. It is expected that the work on the flyover at IMT Manesar Chowk would be completed soon. In addition, 4 underpasses and as many flyovers would be constructed on NH-8 to make the traffic movement seamless. There is a plan to install cameras on NH-8 under intelligent transport system to keep watch on traffic rule violators.

The junction near famous Ambience Mall in Gurgaon would also be improved. In addition, Gadkari assured to start construction work on the Manesar-Gurgaon bypass in near future. The pilot project of Metrino System between Dhaula Kuan in Delhi and Manesar get clearance and work would be started soon.

Nothing could make commuters happier than the reduction of travel time between Delhi and Jaipur. In addition to this, there is one more reason to feel good about- at this new highway you can drive your car at a speed of more than 100 kmph, which is the current legal speed limit in India.
