Reports suggest that stocks of real estate developers have surged up ahead of the Real Estate Bill, which is expected very soon. According to latest market reports, nearly 20 per cent rise in the stocks of real estate developers even as a 21-member committee tabled a report on The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2013 in the Rajya Sabha.
The BSE Realty index surged 2.7 per cent and was the top sectoral index on the BSE. Unitech soared 19.84 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 7.49 on the exchange. Index heavyweight DLF climbed 6.94 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 108.50. HDIL gained over five per cent to hit its day’s high of Rs 84.25.
Other real estate stocks including Oberoi Realty, DV realty, Prestige, Godrej Properties and Indiabulls Realty gained up to two per cent.
