The amendments to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act will streamline the consolidation process in the cement and steel industry, as companies will be able to transfer captive mines to the acquirer which was acquired by them in the pre-auction era, says India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra).

GPS-based property survey on the cards in Nashik
The civic body will implement the global positioning system(GPS)-based property survey, water meter and geo-tagging of trees.
This was decided during a conference of municipal commissioners on urban management programme for capacity building of states organised by the National Institution for Transforming India Aayog, or NITI Aayog, in New Delhi last week. The event was held in association with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise and Temasek Foundation.
